Read more from Seth directly about why he’s joining Empathy in his own words:

I’ve spent most of my career in the financial services sector with a specific focus on life insurance and wealth management, working alongside carriers, advisors, and distribution leaders who genuinely care about helping families protect what matters most. And yet, for all the good intentions in this industry, there’s always been a disconnect I couldn’t ignore.

Life insurance does an essential job when a claim is paid. But for families experiencing loss, the check is only one small part of what comes next. The administrative burden. The decisions. The paperwork. The emotional weight of navigating everything while grieving. For years, I understood that gap to simply be part of the system.

Then I learned about Empathy. What drew me to the firm wasn’t just the product. It was the clarity of the mission and the seriousness with which Empathy approaches scale, ensuring families are supported with structure and care when they need it most.

As someone who has worked closely with financial professionals for decades, I’ve seen firsthand how much trust they carry with their clients. Empathy gives financial professionals something our industry has long needed: a way to show up for families beyond the policy, with structure, humanity, and real support, both in moments of loss with Empathy Loss Support, and in helping families prepare thoughtfully ahead of time, with Empathy Lifevault.

I am delighted to be joining this team at such an exciting time of growth, and look forward to working alongside the Empathy team, our carrier partners, and the financial professional community to help scale Empathy’s impact.
