These life insurance trends have us excited about 2025

Published on Sep 30, 2024

After a busy month of conventions across the U.S., with the leading names in life insurance, we are more energized than ever in our mission to help families through life’s most challenging moments.

And we were grateful to have the opportunity to share what we’ve learned about improving the lives of people struggling with loss—lessons that have led our partners to see:

  • 35% reduction in claims operations costs due to cutback in calls.

  • NPS scores that are nearly 3x the life insurance industry average of 28.

  • And 3X more beneficiaries turning into high-intent leads, compared with the industry standard.

Most importantly, though, we appreciate the wisdom and insights shared with us. Our deep, heartfelt thanks to the following gatherings. All together, they provided powerful motivation to think big and push forward.

LIMRA Annual Conference

At LIMRA, it’s all about innovation. Using tech in new ways was a theme throughout:

  • To develop new approaches to life insurance.

  • To meet and exceed the new expectations that customers have for carriers in terms of tools and access.

  • And to provide the best policyholder, beneficiary, client service possible.

As the comprehensive support system for loss—using human care, enhanced by technology—this year’s LIMRA gave us a lot to think about.

International Claim Association (ICA)

With its people-first approach to insurance, ICA had a number of memorable moments. Specifically: the conversations about bringing care to every aspect of an organization; meeting beneficiaries and claimants where they are, with compassion and understanding; and providing support and care to claims teams.

Upgrading customer support—and unburdening claims teams in the process—was the focus of panel featuring Tyson Jurgens, Empathy’s Senior Manager, B2B Marketing; Megan Burke, Life, Death, and Disability Representative, AuguStar Financial; Cathy Courcey, Claims Manager, Lincoln Heritage Life Insurance Company; and Mary Wilkinson, Director of Claims, Catholic Financial Life. Such a great conversation! Thanks to all who participated.

Global InsurTech Summit

With a focus on innovation, InsurTech’s eyes are on the future. It was one of the best gatherings all year to share ideas, learn new things, and create the future.

The conversations about using tech to build relationships with policyholders and beneficiaries, and upgrading touchpoints with clients to make them more efficient and easy to use were highlights. But we are grateful for all the time at Insurtech, to tell our story and hear countless others.

After all, innovation is the lifeblood of our business. Not only is Empathy leading the way in creating a new category, we are constantly improving and expanding our services and performance as we grow.

Thanks to everyone we met on our travels, and here’s to a great year ahead!
