About the Team
This Regional Vice President serves as the external face of Empathy’s partnerships, helping advisors and their firms activate Empathy through the carrier products that include our solutions. This role brings together direct advisor outreach, hands-on support for key distribution partners, and training that equips advisors to confidently introduce Empathy to their clients. We are seeking Regional Vice Presidents in the Southwest, Mideast and the Northeast territories.
In this role you will
- Serve as Empathy’s key point of contact within assigned carriers, distribution partners, and advisor channels [within assigned territory], helping drive sales and adoption of Empathy-enabled insurance products.
- Work closely with carriers and insurance distribution partners (IMOs, BGAs, BBAs) to execute regional growth plans and drive alignment with Empathy’s national strategy.
- Learn the carrier partner’s value prop and education on product offerings that include Empathy. Partner with Carrier to coordinate priorities, messaging, and joint strategy.
- Build and strengthen advisor relationships within insurance carriers defined in your territory—helping advisors understand how to integrate Empathy into their client conversations and overall service model.
- Conduct joint meetings with RVP/External wholesalers of insurance firms, including advisor meetings, CE sessions, webinars, and local events.
- Collaborate closely with our field marketing, client success and other internal teams to deliver the most up-to-date experience/materials about Empathy..
- Collaborate with your Internal Wholesaler [within your designated territory] to maintain accurate Salesforce (CRM) reporting, monitor advisor engagement, and drive consistent follow-up with all carrier and distribution partners.
- Maintain regular weekly & monthly reporting & data analytics dashboards on advisor engagement, utilization, and policy activation; identify opportunities to expand adoption within existing relationships.
- Create, develop and manage territory business plans with your Team Leader, setting measurable goals around advisor activation, event participation, and policy utilization.
- Deliver quarterly territory business plans and performance updates to Team Leader.
- Adhere to set monthly activity standards (meetings, visits, events)to reach activation goals.
- Represent Empathy at key regional and national conferences, fostering visibility and thought leadership within assigned markets.
- Provide ongoing feedback from the field to internal stakeholders on insurance carrier performance, market trends, and advisor sentiment to inform strategy and product and marketing enhancements.
- Contribute to the broader wholesaling team culture by sharing best practices, participate in team meetings, ongoing training and development and collaborating on national initiatives.
- Travel: Between 50-70%, including conferences, field events, and advisor engagement sessions
Requirements
- 2–4+ years of experience in life insurance carrier distribution, estate planning solutions, or advisor-facing roles within carriers, IMOs, BGAs, or wealth management firms.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and partnership in a fast-paced, mission-driven company.
- Proven track record as a wholesaler, regional vice president, or account manager in the life insurance, annuity, or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of the carrier-advisor ecosystem and how value-add solutions are distributed through existing insurance products.
- Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to educate, motivate, and influence financial advisors who represent carrier offerings that include Empathy.
- Experience conducting field meetings, CE events, and webinars for advisors and distribution partners.
- Ability to manage a territory independently while maintaining high standards of accountability and communication.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with experience using CRMs and reporting dashboards, preference towards experience with Salesforce.
- Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, client success, and internal sales teams.
- Comfortable with video conferencing (zoom, google meet, etc), Powerpoint/Keynote, Slack
- Soft skills - experience with consultative selling, ability to build pull through across multiple distribution channels, comfort presenting in front of various sized audiences of advisors (10-200), strong emotional intelligence.
The salary for this position ranges between $200,000 - $250,000 which includes base salary and variable components. This is decided based on many factors, including but not limited to: skills, qualifications, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, we are proud to offer stock options in the company and a competitive benefits package.
