UX writing at Empathy plays a critical role in the success of our products. Many of our users are often in a state of grief — emotionally overwhelmed, with limited focus and difficulty concentrating. Designing an experience that truly supports them and helps them navigate this time successfully is at the very core of what we do.

The UX Writer’s mission is to translate the app’s interface into language that meets people where they are — crafting clear, consistent, and user-sensitive copy across all products. Every word is intentional: enhancing usability, building trust, and guiding users toward their goals with empathy and clarity.

We’re seeking a UX Writer who excels at complex problem-solving and leads cross-functional collaboration to turn challenging user needs into elegant, impactful, and clear solutions. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution to drive innovation and elevate our core products.

In this role you will

  • Write grammatically correct content for user interfaces
  • Proofread and edit text created by non-writer team members
  • Build a sustainable and scalable content system across Empathy’s user interfaces
  • Craft supportive, quality UX copy for strategic and core projects
  • Collaborate with content writers to help maintain and polish the brand voice
  • Review business requirements to create appropriate and effective copy
  • Work in close collaboration with other design team members
  • Create solutions based on user feedback, usability testing, and metrics
  • Act as a bridge to the Content and Design teams

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in UX writing
  • An independent problem solver who takes projects from concept to completion and creates elegant solutions for complicated challenges.
  • A strong communicator and storyteller who can turn users’ needs into compelling narratives, translate complex concepts into clear information, and engage in constructive feedback to foster growth and collaboration.
  • Growth-oriented, demonstrating dedication to continuous learning, adaptability in dynamic environments, and versatility in approaching design challenges.
  • A natural leader who guides and mentors team members and drives positive change with a focus on inclusion and quality.
