Bringing Empathy LifeVault™ to Canada

Published on Apr 9, 2026

Our research has made one thing very clear: Canadian families are not prepared. Our recent report, The Hidden Barriers to the Great Wealth Transfer, found that only a third of Canadian families have a formal estate plan in place, fewer than 3 in 10 have any financial plan at all, and more than half say the documents they do have are incomplete, outdated, or simply unfindable. Over 1 in 4 rely on informal or verbal arrangements that carry no legal protection. Today, we're proud to take a meaningful step toward changing that — with the launch of Empathy LifeVault™ in Canada.

For too long, estate planning has felt out of reach: expensive, complicated, and something families had to seek out entirely on their own. LifeVault changes that by integrating directly into the financial institutions and insurers that Canadians already trust — making it possible to create Wills, Powers of Attorney, Advance Care Directives, and more, securely and simply, from home. This isn't about adding a product. It's about removing a barrier.

Empathy LifeVault™ makes it possible to create Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Care Directives securely and simply from home.

This launch also marks a new chapter in how Empathy shows up for Canadian families. We've spent the past several years building meaningful partnerships with some of Canada's most recognized names in insurance, banking, and wealth management — bringing Empathy Loss Support™ to policyholders at their most vulnerable moments. With LifeVault now available in Canada, we're able to offer our institutional partners something genuinely new: a single, integrated platform that supports clients across the full arc of life's most pivotal moments, from planning ahead to navigating loss. Until now, digital estate planning tools in Canada have largely operated as direct-to-consumer products, with financial institutions playing only a peripheral role. Empathy was built for enterprise — and that difference matters for the families these institutions serve.

Canada has been an increasingly important part of Empathy's story, and LifeVault's arrival here reflects our broader commitment to reaching more families, in more markets, with more of the support they deserve. Because preparation is a form of care too — and every family should have access to it.
